Why aluminium is the default asset tag

Aluminium is light, does not rust and takes a sharp print, which is why it is the metal most Kenyan offices, schools and workshops pick when they first tag their equipment. The tag is stuck to the asset or riveted through the corner holes, and the number stays readable through years of handling and wiping.

Picking size and thickness

The 50 x 25 mm tag fits laptops, monitors and small machines. Move to 75 x 38 mm or 100 x 50 mm when the tag carries a logo, a barcode and a long number together. Thin 0.5 mm stock bends easily around curved bodies; 1.0 mm stays rigid on flat panels and is harder to pry off.

Code and fixing choices

Code 128 barcodes work with almost every handheld scanner. QR codes hold a link to your register, and Data Matrix packs a long serial into a very small square. Choose adhesive alone for clean surfaces, or add two holes when the tag needs a rivet or screw as a second hold.

Tags are made in batches of 50 or more, and your number sequence prints in the order you give us.
