What anodizing does differently

On an anodized tag the artwork is not printed on top of the metal. It is formed within the aluminium's own oxide layer and then sealed, so there is no surface ink to scrape away. That is the reason these tags are chosen for outdoor equipment, workshops, hospitals and government registers where a tag must last as long as the asset.

Choosing a colour

Silver with black print is the classic, high-contrast look and the easiest to scan. Coloured finishes such as red, blue, gold or black are useful for colour-coding departments, locations or asset classes, but very dark backgrounds reduce barcode contrast, so we advise a test scan before a big run.

Timing

Anodizing is a longer process than direct printing, so the lead time is quoted at 5-7 working days rather than the 1-3 days of standard aluminium tags. Plan for that if you have an audit date.
