Built to be impossible to lift in one piece

The film is so thin and brittle that an attempt to peel it breaks it into small flakes. Once the label is stuck down, you cannot move it to another item without destroying it, which gives you confidence that a number belongs to the original asset.

Practical points

Because the material is fragile, stick it once, on a flat surface, and avoid repositioning. Press it down thoroughly from the centre outwards and avoid stretching across curves, seams or screw heads.

Sizes and codes

40 x 20 mm suits cables and small equipment, 50 x 25 mm is the standard, and 75 x 38 mm holds a logo with a code. White gives the best barcode contrast; silver looks neat on dark equipment.

Use with other tags

Some clients pair a destructible label on the body with a metal tag on the frame, so both must be replaced to disguise a swap.
