Types

Button badges use printed paper protected by a clear cover on a metal shell. Metal pins are cast or stamped with enamel colour fill and feel premium. Name badges hold a printed name and role with a pin or magnet.

Size

25 mm is compact for lapels. 38 mm is a common general size. 58 mm is large and visible in crowds.

Fixing

Pins are inexpensive and secure but make holes in fabric. Magnets hold through clothing without piercing, useful for suits and delicate fabrics, although they can be less secure in rough activity.

Design

Simple, bold artwork reads best on a small round face. Use a light background for names to keep them legible.
