Directional and Wayfinding Signs in Kenya

Reduce the questions at reception

Clear wayfinding lets people find rooms, departments and exits without asking. It matters in hospitals, campuses, malls, factories and multi-storey offices.

Design principles

Use consistent colours, large simple arrows and short wording. Place signs at decision points such as corridor junctions and stair landings. Text should be readable from a few metres away, so go for at least 25 mm letter height for indoor signs.

Materials

ACP is rigid and durable for outdoors and busy corridors. Acrylic looks smart for reception areas. Sticker on board is economical for temporary or changing information.

Mounting

Wall-mounted signs sit flat. Hanging signs hang from ceilings and are visible along corridors. Post-mounted signs suit car parks and grounds.
